General Overview: 
Pineville is a small town of about 6,000 residents. It is has the distinction of being the birthplace of James Knox Polk, the 11th President of the United States. Pineville is in Mecklenburg County North Carolina, located between Charlotte and York County, South Carolina
Special Features:
Pineville is an extensive shopper’s heaven offering nearly 6,000,000 square feet of retail space. The Fall Fest features artists, crafts and commercial vendors. Pineville is also known for its antique shops in its historic downtown area.
Schools:
Education is provided by the Charlotte-Mecklenburg County School System. Pineville is 14 miles from Central Piedmont Community College, 15 miles from York Technical College, and 19 mile from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
Employment and Business:
Retail is a major industry here. Pineville is home to the 1.1 million square foot Carolina Place Mall, at least two power centers and many strip malls, out parcels and free standing retailers. South Land Industrial Park is also located here.
