Monroe, NC
General Overview: 
Monroe is the seat of Union County. It has a population of about 30,000. It features a historic Victorian Courthouse built in 1886, a classic town square, downtown shops with restaurants and businesses, several small parks, tree-lined streets and restored historic homes. It also offers a vital growing business environment.
Special Features:
Special features include the Monroe Historic Homes Tour, the Union County Public Library, the annual Holiday Craft Show and the summer open air farmers markets. Free summer fun includes Movies on the Plaza and Music on Main.
Schools:
Public Schools are provided by the Union County system. There are also several private schools to choose from.
Employment and Business:
Monroe offers a pro-business environment, and an educated hardworking labor force. The City is home to multi-national corporations as well as local regional companies. It currently has industries in the following areas, Aerospace/Defense, Metals and Specialty Alloys, Plastics, Medical Manufacturing, Automotive, Machine Building, Construction Materials, and Food Processing.
